Connection of pier column to footing. Precast footing sockets with reinforcing steel extending into pile cap (cast-in-place) are used to develop fixed-end connection of pier columns to pile cap footing. Socket dimensions allow tolerance for column placement and finally space between socket and column is filled with high strength fine aggregate concrete.
